Smithpool Lake

Smithpool is another water run in co-operation with C.W.A.M.G (The City Waters Advisory Management Group) and until recently was largely ignored by the angling public. It is close enough to the town centre to catch a bus to and holds a good quantity of carp, again many of which are of specimen size. Carp are not the only fish in this pool however and the light tackle pleasure angler can often have a good day's sport with the lighter stock of which the water abounds. This water is shared on some days with a model boating club and through mutual co-operation the two societies have both been able to use the amenity without hindrance to each other.
