Society RulesIn the event of a dicrepancy between this page and the membership card the card is the correct vesion. Rules 1. A General Meeting of members shall be held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm. The chairman has the discretion to withhold any item of business until a future meeting. The Annual General meeting shall be held on the second Wednesday in November at 7.30pm. Standing orders will apply ie "The member proposing the motion will state his/her case. The member seconding will state his reason for support. Each Full member will have one opportunity to state their opinion and the proposer of the motion will then sum up the motion. 2. The October meeting is the closing date for nominations, propositions and amendments for the final Annual General Meeting. All proposals and amendments will be discussed at this meeting. 3. The vote for the AGM shall be by a show of cards. Only Full members (white cards) have the right to vote. 4. Any member in breech of the rules can be suspended or expelled without redress from the Society on a resolution to that effect being supported by two thirds of the members present and voting at a properly convened meeting. 5. Only adult members have the right to inspect another angler's catch, to request to see a membership card and to report any refusal, in writing to the Secretary. 6. All Environment Agency fishing regulations must be observed. No rod and line with bait or hook in the water to be left unattended so that the member is unable to exercise immediate physical control over such tackle. No gorge tackle allowed when pike fishing. No live bait allowed. A maximum of two rods per angler is permitted. 7. No fish to be removed from any water without the permission of the Society. 8. There are 4 grades of membership. MEMBER, ASSOCIATE GENTLEMAN, ASSOCIATE JUVENILE/LADY/OAP and CONCESSIONARY. 9. Membership cards are not transferable. 10. Membership subscriptions are due on 1st January and expire on 31st December. Members (white cards) may renew their membership at monthly meetings or by post to the secretary but if not renewed by 1st June will be excluded from full membership. 11. A member (white card) may take as his personal guest one associate, associate juvenile/concessionary member or other juvenile, under the age of 7 years, onto any of the society's waters. An adult associate member may take as his personal guest one juvenile, under 7 years, onto any water which the adult is authorized to fish. A member (white card) may take a personal guest onto any water on four occasions per year. Booking for this via monthly meetings and the charge is #5 per year. 12. All grades of members must produce a current membership card on request at the waterside, under penalty of suspension. Members not in possession of a current membership will be asked to leave the water. 14. Members must at all times behave in a sporting and considerate manner towards their fellow anglers and show full consideration for the well being of the Societies fisheries and reputation. 15. No member shall fish within 10 yards of another members swim, unless by mutual consent. 16. No Fires. No Guns. No Litter and No Misbehavior will be tolerated on any water. 17. No disposable tin can of any description is allowed on any water. 18. All unused bait is to be removed. Under no circumstances should unused bait be discarded into the water. 19. Bloodworm is banned on all waters from 16th March to 31st October. 20. Only members (white cards) and their personal guests are allowed to night fish (dusk till dawn) and only on those waters where night fishing is allowed by the owner. 21. Pegs will be available on each water for disabled members. 22. Winners must return their trophies in a clean and undamaged condition at the March meeting of the following year. 23. Members may be required to sign the bailiff's record book. 24. No Carp, irrespective of size, or any other fish over 2lbs to be retained in a keep net except in matches. Specimen carp may be retained in a carp sack for photographic purposes only. Anyone specifically fishing for carp or pike must be in possesion of a suitable landing net and an unhooking mat. 25. No match or competition may be conducted on the Society's waters unless formally booked by the match secretary. 26. The Society reserves the right to close any venue for an unspecified period of time. 28. Any rule made or changed at an A.G.M. will remain unaltered for an initial 3 years unless the necessity for such a change is beyond the control of the Society. WARNING LEAVE NO LITTER The Society will take a serious view to any breach of its rules and action under Rule 3 will follow any complaint received by the Secretary to the effect that a member may be guilty of any of the following. Committing willful damage, leaving litter at the waterside, infringement of Environment Agency bylaws, fouling the waters, vandalism or any misconduct calculated to injure or discredit the Society. |
