Collycroft Lake
Collycroft
lake was excavated to provide a source of gravel for the huge A50 project.
Although only dug a few years ago the 8 acre water has quickly matured
and already held a good head of pike, roach and chub before the society
aquired the fishing rights. Recently stocked with large brown and rainbow
trout and a quantity of carp this water is expected to become a firm
favorite with members. Until last autumn it had not been fished before
so no-one really knows the extent of the natural head of fish. Situated
adjacent to the society`s stretch of Sutton brook it has much easier
access than most waters, with parking allowed in the farm field not
far from the water. Access to this lake also provides much a much easier
path to the middle and upper sections of Sutton brook and provides two
completely different angling experiences on the same site.
