Ashley Pools

About thirty minutes drive from Stoke on Trent are three pools at Ashley, The first pool holding a good mixture of fish: Roach, Chub, Perch, tench, carp and bream amongst them. Sizes vary between small to almost specimen so this pool provides a good days sport without the predictability of many more popular waters. The middle pool was originally used as a stock pool because the overhead power lines made fishing impossible, now however the lines have been removed and this deep though small water provides some good chub fishing. The top pool at Ashley is known as the carp pool because it contains almost only carp, the first of which were stocked several years ago. The one criticism often heard from members regarding this pool is that its too easy to catch - sizes vary from 2inch to around 20 pounds.
